I recently read an article, “Why You should Start a Coronavirus Diary?” The New York Times stated it will help you “organize your thoughts” and “educate future generations”.
Now, that’s a fantastic idea.
It got me to thinking about how this pandemic has changed my life verses the other health concerns, such as the 1976 Legionnaires Disease outbreak, the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in 2003, and H1N1 Virus in 2009.
God brought me through and many of you.
Therefore, why the deep concern about the Coronavirus?
Death is a true possibility from any disease, plague, accident, natural cause, etc. The thing about this virus is our perception. The coronavirus is truly a warning to turn from your wickedness back to God. It seems like every disease and disaster is building upon the other, rather it’s natural or thought to be man-made. They are getting harder and harder to eliminate or stop. Man can come up with all types of devices to make our lives easier, i.e., being able to turn on our home alarm when we are in another country. And yet, when it comes to health concerns or natural disasters like the fire that occurred in Australia 2019, they had problems with shutting them down. Why? Maybe it had something to do with our focus not being on the Way Maker, God our Father. It took floods and rain to finally quiet Australia’s fires.
Ponder this: “If only we learn from our and other’s mistakes.”
Instead of a Coronavirus Diary or even a Pandemic Diary, why not a 2020 Journal?
The journal should contain:
Ponder this: “The pandemic is just another season in our lives. If you live long enough, you will have others.”
For me, a major life change was the passing of my mother. It was like, my history was gone, my heart missed beats, and my life was on standstill. Each major life change is different. Go through it, because on the other side, you find that with God, you really “can do all things through Christ who strengthens you” (Philippians 4:13).
If you participated in the Psalm 91 Read Aloud Challenge in April, starting a 2020 Journal can be a natural next step. It would be a blessing to whoever reads it after you. Seeing how God blessed during and after the pandemic can be an eye opener that builds a Believers faith or lead someone to Christ.
If you did not participate in the Psalm 91 Read Aloud Challenge check it out. Begin the journey with a friend. It’s a guided 21 day experience of praying Psalm 91 over your family and the world while inadvertently memorizing the scripture.
Here’s how to start a 2020 Journal:
Everyone will know that Jesus lives and God is real through our lives. You are recording truth.
The devil, once again, has to flee.
Shalom!
