Book Review: Psalm 91 God’s Shield of Protection
Thursday, July 9, 2020 by Lyvita Brooks

Title: Psalm 91 God’s Shield of Protection

Author: Peggy Joyce Ruth and Angelia Ruth Schum

Summary: This book takes you through Psalm 91 verse-by-verse. It explains in detail God’s promises of protection from every evil known to man. Psalm 91 is deeper than I thought. Thank goodness, the author includes ways to overcome these evils by using the most important tool God has given us. The Bible. It’s through the Bible that you meet Jesus Christ and the God in whom we can put our trust. He is the Most High, the Almighty, LORD and my God.

Most Important Aspect: It’s not just another book for Bible study.  It goes further, by showing us how the lives of others were impacted by applying the principles in Psalm 91 to their lives. Let’s say, when two or three are gathered in the name of our Lord, on one accord, miracles happen.

Memorable Quote from the Book: “Promises of protection can be found throughout the Bible, but Psalm 91 is the only place in the Word where all the protection promises are brought together in one collection – forming a covenant written through the Holy Spirit.” (Taken from page 121) This Psalm is worth putting to memory and meditating on.

Conclusion: This is the book God used to inspire me to begin the Psalm 91 Read Aloud Challenge, and then, the Ps91 Bible Study Zoom Class. I urge you to please, do more than read this book, but spend time in quiet meditation, seeking God’s face, listening and waiting for Him to show Himself faithful. God loves us. It’s time to embrace all that God’s given you, but you must first know, who He is.
