Saints, do you ever take the time and see where you are in your walk with Christ? We sometimes gauge our parenting skills, how are we from 1 to 10 at being a loving spouse, the job always has some type of criteria they use to determine rather you are a productive worker or not, and we even compare ourselves to other…and yet, how often do you take a spiritual assessment of where you are?

Checklist for accessing if you are a hot, cold or lukewarm Christian.

Let’s talk about the natural man, spiritual man and carnal man, but even more so are you, am I, feeding off the meat of God’s word or am you, I still drinking milk? Let’s talk about that today. Now on to the Intro..

7:13 - Let’s pray

Episode Begins

5:38 - Lyvita: Saints, my cousin is back! Reverend Quinda Richardson. Welcome Cuz.

Quinda: Hello Everyone and Thank you for inviting me back.

Lyvita: Quinda, this is your third time being on the podcast. The last one was episode 48. Saints, if you haven’t listened to it, check it out. It’s about (Share)

Quinda: That’s right.

Lyvita: Well, this episode is focused on: Who are spiritual people? Are there really carnal Christians? And how to stay or mature as a spiritual person?

6:40 - Lyvita: Quinda can you read 1 Corinthians 3: 1-9 for us and let us know what version you are reading from.

7:10 - Quinda: 3 But I, brothers,[a] could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, 3 for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human?

5 What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. 6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. 8 He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. 9 For we are God's fellow workers. You are God's field, God's building.

9:20 - Lyvita: So let’s begin with the basic. All humans have a body, a spirit, and a soul. It’s evident when we read Genesis 2:4-7.

4These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens. 5 When no bush of the field[a] was yet in the land[b] and no small plant of the field had yet sprung up—for the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground, 6 and a mist[c] was going up from the land and was watering the whole face of the ground— 7 then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.

10:33 – From those 4 verses we see that God formed the body of man out of the dust of the ground. I read in www.whatchristianswanttoknow.com/ that Scientists tell us that about 99.85% of the human body is made up of the elements of oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, sodium, chlorine, magnesium, and sulfur. All of these elements are found in the earth and atmosphere (1). We also see that man has the spirit of life given to him by God. We see reference to this human spirit in numerous places in Scripture: Genesis 45:27; Deuteronomy 2:30; Joshua 5:1; the rest I’ll put in the comments section- Psalms 51:17; Proverbs 18:14; Luke 1:47; Luke 2:40; John 6:63; 1 Corinthians 7:34; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; James 2:26).

12:05 - Finally, we see that when God breathed the spirit of life into man’s body, he became a living soul. We also see this referenced in Scripture (1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 4:12). Now that’s interesting. It’s proof we were made from dirt. I’m guessing it was that good red dirt we made mud pies with down south in Grandma’s backyard.

Lyvita: So Quinda let’s start here with the beginning of verse 3

14:00 - The following are questions asked on the episode:

1. What’s the difference between spiritual people and people of the flesh?

2. Why do we find in the “Christian realm” as spiritual people, natural people and carnal people when Paul never used the word “Carnal” nor the word natural but people of the flesh, which I thought was interesting also?

3. Can a true Christian be carnal? Or is it either you are or you aren’t a Christian and does “practicing sin” have anything to the type of Christian you are?

4. How does a spiritual person grow?

5. Why is it a good thing to assess your walk? How often do you do it or should you do it? What’s your experience?

6. What spiritual disciplines do you develop in order to become a mature believer?

7. Why should we be careful of our witness?

8. What do you do when you stop being consistent in maturing in your walk with the Lord?

9. How does your works on earth impact your eternal life?

19:45 - Lyvita shares how Create Space came about

Lyvita: So until we meet again over the airwaves, intentionally and daily, hang out with Jesus.

Lyvita and Quinda: Shalom!
