1:12 – Well Saints, this is going to be a short episode because the summer is almost over and I want to spend some extended time with my family. And yet, I just had one of my big epitomes.

1:25 – I’m still studying the first letter of Paul to the Corinthians. I’m on chapter 2. Here’s the thing. After reading Chapter two for a couple of days Holy Spirit highlighted verse 8, but I’m going to read 6 to 9. Please listen in as I read it from 1 Corinthians chapter 2. Better yet, get your Bible if you can and a pen or highlighter if you are ok with marking in your study Bible. If not get a pad. I’ll turn to it in mine while you get what you need. 

2:25 – 1^st Corinthians 2: 6-9 read

3:18 – Saints, did you hear verse 8. Why is it that we can read the Word day in and day out, year after year and still not grasp everything in it? I have markings from the last times I read this chapter in verse 6, 7 and 9, so why didn’t I underline verse 8, “for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord”?

3:29 – Are we as believers just as blind as the rulers during the apostles’ age? Are we as believers still blind today and the leaders of this age?

3:52 – This is why I keep pushing studying the Bible, but now I also see why Holy Spirit has been the focus of the podcast this year. Saints, the Gospel is revealed by the Spirit through the Word. (Repeat slowly) They go hand in hand.

It’s when we let the wisdom of this world, the wisdom of those who are doomed to pass away, that we miss the secret and hidden wisdom of God. Guess what? God established this hidden wisdom before earth came about, just for His glory.

4:41 – Saints, God reveals things to us, when we are able to handle it, because then He will get the glory. We can’t handle all of the wisdom and knowledge of God. Hey we can hardly contain all the information we consume over the TV, internet, books we read, and information we gather at work or school. God knows this and gives us what we need as we grow in Christ.

5:08 – Here’s something I’d like to share. Bible Study as you know is a spiritual discipline. Spiritual Disciplines create space so you can commune with God. Take two to three days for 30 minutes or more to study your Bible. I’m not talking about reading it, but studying it. Look back to episode 36. It gives a step-by-step process for studying God’s word.

6:24 – It was through developing this discipline of studying God’s word and being present so Holy Spirit can teach me that I grow in Christ. Our growth, depends on our relationship with the Triune God. Do you, do I truly know Him, believe Him, and understand that He is God?

7:02 – Then time to apply what we know, and even more so to share it.

7:06 – Saints, let’s pray.

God my Father, thank you for this moment, again of being in your presence. I pray that what was briefly shared will open our eyes to see and ears to hear and hearts to imagine what You have prepared for us who love You. That the things you revealed to us through Holy Spirit are imparted to others not by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen
